Saltdean Lido Talk: Heart Food: Managing Cholesterol with Nutrition

Good cholesterol, bad cholesterol, triglycerides. Statins.  Fat is bad.  Fat is good.  Low fat is good – or is it bad?  There is a lot of information out there, and with influencers, adverts, social media and supplements aplenty, how do you know what is right?

Evidence and science is the key – join BANT-registered Nutritional Therapist Kathrin from Optimal Nutrition for the next Nutrition talk at the Saltdean Lido, to look at the jargon, understand what it all means (in an accessible and clear way!), and to see what we can do to influence cholesterol levels through food.  Because we can – and it can be delicious, too!

Saltdean Lido Talk: Feed Your Mind: Nutrition for Brain Health

“One cannot think well… if one has not dined well” (Virginia Woolf).  So what needs to be on our plates to feed our minds?  And how can we support brain health as we move through life stages?  Nutrition evidence suggests that cognitive decline may be influenced by the food we eat, and with Alzheimer’s affecting one in 14 people over the age of 65 in the UK, understanding how we can nourish our brains – in a way that is achievable and can be maintained, should be on everyone’s to-do list.

Join us as we look at the nutrients our brains need, from childhood through to healthy latter years, with practical tips and examples of places that are doing it well.  It will give you something to think about!
